Why PawDive exists

PawDive started with an afternoon spent reading one-star reviews.

The cat supplement aisle on Amazon is crowded. Dozens of near-identical pouches, mostly in bright primary colours, mostly with a photograph of somebody else's cat on the front. Read what buyers actually say about them and the same three complaints come up again and again: the cat wouldn't touch it, it looked nothing like the picture, and nobody answered when they asked for help.

Two of those are packaging problems. All three are avoidable.

So PawDive was built around a simple rule: show people what they are actually buying. Our chews are printed on the jar at their true size and their true colour — not enlarged, not glossed, not idealised. If the chew in your hand looks smaller or plainer than you expected, we have failed at the first thing we set out to do.

We also stopped hiding behind vague instructions. Most products in this category say "give one to two chews daily" and leave you to guess. Ours gives a dose by your cat's bodyweight, because weight is something you can measure and a life stage is something you have to estimate. And we say plainly that it takes about thirty days of consistent use before you can fairly judge whether something is working — which is a less exciting promise than the ones our competitors make, and a more honest one.

The product itself is made in Vermont, USA, by an established American supplement manufacturer, using domestic and imported ingredients. It comes in a jar rather than a pouch, because a jar reseals and keeps the chews fresh to the last one.

PawDive is a small operation. It is run by Simon Benest, on his own, from Jersey in the Channel Islands. That has one obvious disadvantage and one real advantage. The disadvantage is that there is no call centre. The advantage is that when you email us, you are emailing the person who chose the manufacturer, approved the label and cares whether this works. He answers it himself.

We are not veterinarians and we do not pretend that a supplement is medicine. What we can promise is that we will describe our products accurately, price them honestly, and answer when you write to us.
